これに対してエミリーがツイッターで反応。「あのビデオをフェミニストの声明文だなんて言っていないわ。でもこうなってみると、女性に対して彼女たちの体やセクシュアリティをどう扱うかを命令することが古典的な性差別だと言う価値があるわね。私はフェミニズムに対して意見も持っているし、同時にセクシーな写真も撮れる」と反論している。

するとモーガンは「君はパスタの写真のことでフェミニズムについて語っているよ」とツイート！　確かにエミリーは今回の動画に「私の持っているフェミニズムのコンセプトの核である理想は個人による選択なの」とコメント、フェミニズムに触れている。でもだからと言ってピアースがエミリーの行動を「ふしだら」と非難する理由にはならないはず。

ちなみにこの撮影ではエミリーは「ミニスカートを着たり、セクシーな画像をインスタグラムに投稿したりしたとき、男性にどう見られるだろうかと考えることにうんざり。私はやりたいことをやるわ」とも語っている。

いわゆる男ウケを考えるのはたくさんだと主張するエミリーと、考えない彼女を「ふしだら」と非難するピアース。フェミニズムの考え方と男性たちからの押し付けのギャップが改めて明らかになったと言えそう。
